I was born in Glencoe, Minnesota and was the youngest of four children. My dad was a veterinarian and that is probably what drew me into the feed business. I had plenty of chances to go along with him on the job, especially when the job involved good “learning experiences” like dehorning steers. I enjoyed working with livestock producers and developed a philosophy of always trying to leave a customer better off than before I came.

 

I graduated from Mankato State University with a marketing degree in 1986 and have been involved in the feed business since 1987. I worked six years each for Moorman Mfg Co. and Cargill before coming to J&R Distributing in 1999.

 

My wife Angie and I live on a small acreage near Pipestone with our two children, Daniel and Katelyn. Our family enjoys church activities, gardening, wildlife, hunting and fishing, and trying to keep up with yard work in our spare time.
