I grew up a farm boy, a native of South Dakota, raised in the Parkston-Mitchell area. I attended grade school and junior high at Parkston and my high school days were at Mitchell. After graduating from SDSU with a major in HPER I worked for Dakota Wesleyan University recruiting students and as an assistant football coach. In 1979 I entered the livestock industry working for Talbot Carlson Inc., then for Old West Feeds from1983 to 1986. In 1986 I returned to SDSU for a Masters Degree in HPER with emphasis in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition. From 1988 to 1991 I worked for National Safety Associates in the field of water filtration. Since 1991 I’ve worked for JR as a Salesperson specializing in Ruminant Nutrition with an emphasis in Dairy.
My wife Laurie works for America Family Insurance and hails from Mitchell also, we have two children, our daughter Alexis and son Matthew.
